Teamed with Belle & Wissell to create an interactive touchscreen application for Bram Stoker's original Dracula manuscript. This application is installed at the EMP in Seattle.
The screen was 1920 x 1080 which posed some real challenges for the animated blood/ink splatter transitions.
The solution was to create a series of high resolution pngs (with alpha channel) and load them into memory when the application starts up.
A timer then writes the frames of the png sequence to a bitmap display object.
With this method we were able to achieve hd alpha video with out any loss in frame rate.
